Network Operations Manager


Our client is a Farsi-language channel targeting people in the Farsi speaking diaspora.

It is a news and factual channel with news bulletins, talk shows, documentaries, features and magazine content across broadcast, digital and social media.


We are looking for a Network Operations Manager to work on this multimedia channel, which is based in a modern, purpose built newsroom in West London. 


Job Introduction:


The role, which will report directly to the Head of Service and be a major figure within the Senior Management Team, will be responsible for overseeing all technology aspects and resources of the channel spanning both Broadcast (multi- channel output) and Information Technology and will also assume a leading role in the channel’s technological development.




You will be responsible for interacting with all key stakeholders to gauge and satisfy their on-air needs, manage all issue resolution for the operation and partner with all internal and third-party support and engineering groups.   


Key responsibilities:


Will include being an important conduit between the production and editorial teams and the technology service.  In this capacity the service will rely heavily on the successful applicant for operational and strategic advice and guidance.


You will also be responsible for all aspects of technical operator training ensuring that the needed level of competence is maintained.


The ability to lead and develop a strong partnership with all outsourced partners, ensuring that service levels are maintained, is essential.

You will own and manage the local departmental budget in order to fully deliver all operational needs within budget.





  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with networking technologies, standards, protocols and redundancy strategies


  • Minimum 5 years using SD/HD SDI Video formats, SMPTE Standards/Protocols, digital video encoding/compression standards, media file formats and distribution methodologies


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience exhibiting a strong leadership presence, people management skills and communications skills.
