A great opportunity as a Social Media Editor at our high profile, West London based broadcaster.

The role requires impressive creative and editing skills, camera operating skills, experience of production and postproduction and an ability to work efficiently in a highly pressurized environment. Good organization, self-motivation and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines are essential.

Reporting to the Post Production Supervisor, the Social Media Editor role is mainly responsible for providing the marketing team with weekly clips / showlifts. The position is responsible for planning, creating and coordinating the production and delivery of programme clips and digital materials for websites, social media, and PR.

Requirements 

  • Experience in a production and post production environment
  • Good working knowledge of non-linear editing systems
  • Experienced in Avid Media Composer and Premiere Pro
  • Ability to operate cameras (such as Canon 5D & Sony A7, or similar) and sound & lighting equipment
  • Strong editorial ability from content creation to editing and sub-editing
  • Knowledge/experience with VOD/mobile/broadband production design aspects
  • Demonstrated creative, script writing, editorial and visual instincts
  • Fluent Mac user, technically skilled
  • Understanding / Knowledge of encoding software and digital formats
  • Excellent organisational skills – ability to prioritise efficiently
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilties

  • Cutting weekly clips for the marketing team
  • The ability to manage, produce and edit a high volume of clips and show lifts based on project
  • specs and stakeholder requests
  • Liaise with PR teams to ensure clips are generated in line with the promotional priorities
  • Delivering creative ideas and treatments as needed
  • Maintaining and entering all project documentation, metadata entry and maintenance of the content related to assigned projects
  • Film and edit footage for us on social feeds
  • Some scripting, directing, editing
  • Work with the Digital Content Creators
  • Digitise/import all necessary materials into Avid
  • Organize and maintain digital video assets
  • Encode files as necessary
  • Possible editing of in house reels; clips; competition promos and ad hoc material
  • Downloading material/assets that are sent externally
  • Delivery of projects/assets/promos in various formats as required (QTs, MXFs, AAFs, etc)
  • Upload assets as required internal systems and Brightcove, and Box for sharing
  • Editing compilation tapes, showreels and promos when required
