Head of Technical Development

Our client is an established and successful company specialising in television graphics and working with some of the biggest broadcasters in the UK and beyond. Based in South-West London, they are a small, experienced and committed team of designers, programmers and gfx operators who build, design and play out graphics to screens in tv galleries, outside broadcast trucks and football stadiums.

Job Description:

We are looking for someone to technically support the team in their day to day roles both at the London HQ and on-site with clients, and to work with the directors and senior team to drive the business forward in terms of technical development and innovation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with the team to support all current clients and jobs to ensure the smooth running of the on-site operation 
  • Attend new business briefings/pitches/meetings to advise on technical requirements & possibilities
  • Support the team in terms of software and hardware developments & upgrades
  • Keep abreast of technical developments and innovations available externally
  • Assist the team in implementing new developments and innovation
  • Support the hardware and software (HQ and off-site) and maintain all kit in good working order
  • Plan for future kit requirements and provision
  • Liaise with clients for the successful technical implementation of projects and jobs

Candidate requirements:

  • Proven skills with Vizrt in a broadcast environment and the willingness to work with other gfx engines (Ross, Ventuz etc.)
  • Proven skills as a broadcast engineer 
  • General knowledge and skills with office IT infrastructure
  • Knowledge and experience with AR/VR hardware and operation in a broadcast environment, or at the very least the desire to learn and implement this
  • Passionate, self-motivated, tenacious and with a can-do attitude
  • High level of interpersonal, influencing and team working skills
  • Excellent communication skills in all forms
  • Highly organised 
  • Excellent IT skills
